I love sharing my studio with other potters, be they beginners or experienced, imparting and exchanging knowledge and skills.
The studio is equipped with three electric wheels and a kick wheel, a slab roller, workbenches, running water and drying shelves. The kiln is housed in a separate room behind a fire door. Clays and glazes are included in the price and there is no need to bring your own apron. Unlike some tutors, I do not make students clean the floor! There is even a 'potter's powder room' (toilet). We take a tea break midway through each session to discuss pots and potters. On warm days we work on the sun terrace, with a view of the fields across the river and the mountains in the distance. I have an extensive library of books and magazines covering ceramics, art and design.
It is true that potting couples are rare, so many of my students combine the course with a holiday, staying in local accommodation, of which there is a plentiful choice and exploring the beautiful Ariege Pyrenees with their hire cars, picked up from Carcassonne or Toulouse Airports, both just an hour away. B&B and Gite accommodation is plentiful and I can help you in your search.
